Recreations: Luisa Bergalli Gozzi

Swift on the heels of Laura’s portrait of Isabella, I received this contribution from Tina, who has captured the look of Luisa Bergalli Gozzi. The original portrait comes from the frontispiece of her anthology of Venetian women writers, an important document that confirms how many women were writing, even though most of their lives go unremembered. Luisa was a multitalented, tenacious writer and translator, a provider for her family.

Thanks, Tina, for bringing Luisa back to life!
